ETA & PACE Partner Up on COVID-19 PPE

PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) has increased the safety of their patients by partnering with Emergency Transportation Associates to install custom protection dividers in their wheelchair van fleet. As part of this partnership, ETA and PACE will be creating custom solutions for dividing the driver and patient areas within the wheelchair van fleet while maintaining the ability to provide exceptional customer service and a friendly environment to patients within the PACE program.

Type II Ambulances & Personal Protective Equipment

ETA took the time to visit the PACE program and meet with the staff to ask questions regarding the project and the best solutions for their type II wheelchair van PPE needs. The main focus for ETA was to ensure that the PACE staff can still maintain a friendly, safe, and comfortable environment for their patients. We wanted to ensure that communications could still be had back and forth as well so that the transport could feel as normal and comfortable as possible.

Our solution? We took a full sheet of Lexan glass (chosen for its exceptional durability in the face of car wrecks) and custom-fit the sheet to the desired measurements. This required us to make custom brackets to ensure that the Lexan did not move or shake throughout transport in the type II ambulance fleet. The final step involved going around all of the edges of the Lexan and smoothing out any sharp edges to ensure safety.

Superior Safety for PACE Type II Wheelchair Vans

As a result of our partnership, ETA was able to provide a simple yet custom solution that met the goals of the assignment. By taking the time to meet with the staff, understand their needs, and performing the work on-site, ETA’s staff was able to think, create, and install these dividers all over the span of one weekend. This quick turnaround was important to ETA as we wanted to make sure that the project was completed while the PACE program was in “slow” or “off” hours so as to not cause any delays or interruptions in regularly scheduled transports.

This is just one of the ways in which our team goes above and beyond the call of duty for our clients. Whether it’s finding unique solutions to enhance patient safety during transport or converting a type I ambulance to a type III, our team has the skills and expertise necessary to get the job done right.
